Neytendastofa – the Consumer Agency is a public institution that is subject to the State Budget procedures in Iceland. A special Committee of Ministers plays a key role in all decision concerning the annual State Budget in Iceland. In turn each individual Ministry has the overall repsponsibility to ensure that the preparations and execution of the annual State Budget is within the frames for expenditure as agreed by Parliament each year.

The final decision of priorities within the frames of the annual State Budget lies also within each respective Ministry.
